During her four years at this University Academy, Dr. Taylor-Eccles' transitioned from lead-teacher to assistant principal to Interim Principal. Dr. Taylor-Eccles has been a tremendous asset to the academic and social needs of this school's parents, staff, and students. 

Dr. Taylor-Eccles is an instructional leader. She is very passionate about K-8 curriculum and improving student achievement. As the interim principal, Dr. Taylor-Eccles worked with our K-2 teachers to implement Daily 5 with fidelity. She worked with each teacher so that the process was implemented with great success. She also worked tirelessly with our 3rd-8th grade teachers to continue the excellent academic support and growth of all MacArthur students. Dr. Taylor Eccles' grasp on K-8 curriculum has been a part of the stabilizing factor during this COVID-19 pandemic. 

Dr. Taylor-Eccles' is a wonderful administrator who has proven the ability to lead and enjoys seeing others succeed and grow. She builds awesome relationships and is able to know what is needed to help schools maintain a healthy school culture.

I thought you did great with this webinar! You have good presence. Your content/information is solid! I was all into it because it's such a real topic we need to talk about. We definitely need to connect. Teachers have literally been the bulk of my resume writing business this year. Started a little last year BUT this year...whhheewww that's all I've been getting. I want the business, but in talking with them, its really sad because many of them would stay IF things were "different" b/c they are truly called to that profession. I need to start sending them your way to explore options outside of leaving!

I have known Ms. Taylor-Eccles for 12 years. She has taught online courses at Marygrove College in the Master in the Art of Teaching (MAT) program, and on-ground courses in the teacher certification program as an adjunct faculty member. Marygrove College offered a nationwide Master’s program for certified, practicing teachers who wish to improve their practice in the classroom. The program consisted of ten cutting-edge courses, three semester hours each. The courses are 7 weeks long; the grind on the instructors is impressive. 

Ms. Taylor-Eccles managed 15 students in each course she teaches, usually teaching two courses per semester. Ms. Taylor-Eccles’ positive, “can do” attitude and attention to detail are instrumental in student success, as she interacts with her students, not only on a professional, professorial level, but on a practical, personal level, helping these teachers make positive changes to their teaching practice. 

She provided appropriate instruction and motivation for our newest students in their initial teacher certification program, and in their final semester as their coach during student teaching. 

Both students and colleagues will benefit from her leadership and educational background!

Looking back at over 25 years of teaching in education, there is one Administrator that stands out. After the privatization of Michigan’s school system, my class size grew from 18 to 30 with less time and funds to adequately teach them. Dr. Taylor-Eccles was just the medicine I needed to continue my journey with joy in Education. Her excellence, encouragement, love for teaching, and belief in our Education system is why I continue to believe that there is hope for a turnaround in our teachers leaving the profession. It is so rewarding to know that I worked with someone that truly cares about and for teachers.
